BMD Software is developing TeleGraft, a European project aimed at increasing the quality of life for hemodialysis patients.
Being a critical process for people suffering from chronic renal failure, hemodialysis involves cleaning a patient’s blood with a specific machine and returning it to the body, posing significant logistical and health challenges. TeleGraft addresses these challenges by developing an arteriovenous graft, and integrating spectroscopy techniques and subcutaneous sensors, for monitoring blood flow and early detection of inflammation and bacterial infection.
The system is designed to receive, store, and visualize various biosignals such as blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and glucose levels, aiming not only to track these critical metrics but also predict anomalies, generate comprehensive reports on clinical issues, and alert healthcare professionals when any values deviate from established thresholds.
BMD Software is developing a user-friendly web application that allows healthcare professionals to customize the types of biosignals they monitor based on individual patient needs. Additionally, the objective is to include features dedicated to medication management, clinical reports, and health questionnaires, covering both physical and mental health aspects.
Once it allows remote monitoring and distant diagnostics, it extends the benefits to patients who may not have easy access to specialized hospital facilities. Furthermore, the constant monitoring and timely alerts provided, ensures that hemodialysis can be performed safely as well as effectively, regardless of the patient’s location.
BMD Software is committed to pushing the boundaries of medical technology, and is focused on transforming the landscape of hemodialysis treatment.
